Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis recently moved their base of operations from Minneapolis to Los Angeles. But for the next 2 weeks, they are coming to Atlanta to work with Janet Jackson. I'm excited to be working with them, cutting studio tracks and vocals for Janet's latest album.

The movie bug has caught up with me once again. We are hard at work finishing audio for Fatwa, the film I have been working on. It stars Lauren Holly and Lacey Chabert, as well as a great ensemble cast.

I went back in to Brannon Productions, working with Rich Ward on his Duke Project. Rich is best known for his work as the guitar player from Stuck Mojo. This project is really cool, and I look forward to continuing to work on it.

I overcame my fear of public speaking, to take part in GRAMMY Career Day. I participated in a panel, speaking to high school students interested in getting into the music business. We discussed today's technology in music, and how it affects the creative process.

Today I was booked on a session at a studio I had never visited before... Brannon Productions. It's a great room with a wonderful vibe. I was in to record vocals for Tori Alamaze, an incredibly talented R&B vocalist. Sounds great!

We just wrapped up the mix for "The Unseen." I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Now the director and producers have the job of making the festival circuit. I wish them all the luck in the world.

The GRAMMY nominees were announced today. I'm happy to say I have been honored with a nomination in the category of Album of the Year for my work with Usher on his album, Confessions. Wow!

Things are really getting interesting, as I am starting sound design and mixing on my first feature film, The Unseen. Directed by Lisa France, it promises to be a very fun and interesting project. We'll be mixing at Lab 601 in 5.1 surround.

At Lab 601, I started mixing a series for Discovery Channel HD, entitled "Sunrise Earth." The series is being mixed in 5.1 surround, and was shot entirely in HD.

This week I put on my producer's hat, and worked with a great new alt rock band from Sylacauga, Alabama (Yes, Sylacauga). They are called JacKit and they have a big, fresh sound. We recorded and mixed the whole thing at Stonehenge.

Over the past several weeks, I have worked on sessions at Doppler Studios, with a long list of artists: Beyonce Knowles, The O'Jays, Faith Evans, Angie Stone, Montell Jordan, Bilal, Ann Nesby, Melba Moore, The Pace Sisters, and Lil' Zane, to name a few.

Killer Mike, the newest artist on Outkast's Stankonia Records, rolled into The Animal House to work on a remix for his new single. Steaknife and Mark produced for Sewell Park Productions. While they were here, they also recorded a commercial for E&J Cognac.

Long time since I've had an update! Well, here's something worth mentioning. I had a session today with Whitney Houston. We recorded vocals at my old stomping grounds, Doppler Studios, for an upcoming release. Whitney was true to form, a true vocalist. One of the finest I've ever worked with.

Rehab is fun! I'm in the studio the entire month of February, working on a new release for Epic recording artists Rehab. We're working at ZAC Recording in Atlanta, and the entire project is being tracked on a Protools MIX3 system.

I just finished a week of mixing for MCA artist "Pryme" at Atlanta's newest mix room, Stonehenge Recording located at ZAC Recording. Stonehenge is home to the only Amek 9098i console in the southeast.

Gwen Hughes is one of Atlanta's premiere jazz vocalists. She just released her new album, "Lost and Found," which can be found on her website. Most of the songs on the album were mixed here at The Animal House.
